When to go
Best time to visit Bhutan
March to May, and September to November. Clear mountain views and pleasant days; spring brings rhododendrons, autumn brings festivals. Winter is cold but clear, and black-necked cranes winter at Gangtey from about November to February.

Prafull's notes
- Indian passport or voter ID is mandatory for the entry permit — an Aadhaar card alone won't do. Children can use a birth certificate.
- The Tiger's Nest hike takes 4–6 hours return. Ponies go about halfway; parents can enjoy the view from the cafeteria point.
- Dzongs and temples ask for long sleeves and full-length trousers or skirts. No caps inside.

Bhutan questions
Do Indians need a visa for Bhutan?
No. Indians get an entry permit with a passport or voter ID, and pay a Sustainable Development Fee of ₹1,200 per adult per night. Our prices include the fee.
How many days do you need for Bhutan?
Six nights covers Thimphu, Punakha and Paro with the Tiger's Nest hike. Four nights is enough for Thimphu and Paro.
How do we get to Bhutan from Mumbai?
Fly to Paro via Delhi or Kolkata, or fly to Bagdogra and drive to Phuentsholing at the border. We suggest the best option for your dates.
Is the Tiger's Nest hike suitable for seniors?
It's steep and takes 4–6 hours. Ponies go part of the way; many seniors go up to the cafeteria viewpoint, which has an excellent view of the monastery.
