When to go

Best time to visit Cambodia

November to March. November to March is dry and a little cooler, the best time for long days at the temples. April and May are very hot. June to October is the rainy season: green and quieter, with showers most afternoons.

Prafull's notes

  • The Angkor pass is bought at the ticket office with a photo taken on the spot; carry your passport. Temple days start early to beat the heat.
  • Cover shoulders and knees for the temples, Angkor Wat's upper level and the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh.
  • Choeung Ek and Tuol Sleng are moving, difficult visits. We tell you exactly what to expect, and you can skip them if you prefer.
