October to March. Dry and pleasant, cooler in the hills and calm on the backwaters. June to September is monsoon: green and quiet, but some drives and boat trips are affected.

Prafull's notes
- Houseboats moor for the night by early evening, so the afternoon is the best of it. We time your boarding for around noon.
- Eravikulam National Park in Munnar usually closes for a few weeks around February–March for the Nilgiri tahr calving season. Then we take you to Top Station instead.
- At Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram, men wear a mundu and no shirt; women wear a saree or a long skirt. The details are in your trip notes.

Kerala questions
How many days do you need for Kerala?
Six or seven nights covers the hills, the backwaters and the beach without rushing. With four nights, do Munnar and Alleppey only — our Kerala Easy journey.
What is the best time to visit Kerala?
October to March: dry, cooler in the hills and calm on the backwaters. June to September is the monsoon — green and quiet, but some drives and boat trips are affected.
Is Kerala good for senior citizens?
Yes, at an easy pace. The hill roads are winding, so we break the drives with stops, keep mornings unhurried and book ground-floor rooms on request.
Can we get pure-veg or Jain food on the houseboat?
Yes. The crew cooks on board, so we brief them before you arrive.
