Darjeeling & Sikkim

Three nights covers Darjeeling or Gangtok on their own, five or six covers both, and seven or eight adds Pelling or North Sikkim. Our longest trip covers the whole region in 14 nights.

Indian visitors need permits for Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir and for North Sikkim (Lachen, Lachung, Yumthang, Gurudongmar and Zero Point). We arrange them; send photo ID and two passport-size photos per guest 10 days before travel. PAN and Aadhaar cards are not accepted.

Lachen is closed at the moment. If it is still closed when your trip starts, you stay in Lachung instead, and we tell you of any difference in price.

Yes. Our Darjeeling and Sikkim prices include GST (5%), hotel taxes, permit fees, breakfast and dinner, and a private car for the whole trip. Flights or trains to Bagdogra or NJP are extra and quoted for your dates.

Every package comes in four hotel categories: Super Deluxe, Superior, Premium and Luxury. Each package page lists the hotels in every town. In Lachen and Lachung even the best hotels are simple and serve all meals.

Darjeeling, Gangtok, Kalimpong and Pelling are easy at a gentle pace. Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft) and Gurudongmar Lake (about 17,800 ft) are high and cold, so check with your doctor, and we suggest the trips without Gurudongmar for older travellers.
