Itinerary (day wise)
Two nights in Kathmandu, then Bhaktapur, Doleshwor Mahadev and a night at Sanga below the 143-foot statue of Shiva.
Day 1Arrive in Kathmandu
Welcome to Nepal. Our representative meets you at Tribhuvan International Airport and drives you to your hotel. Kathmandu is the capital, and its valley is the political and cultural heart of the country. The rest of the day is free.

No meals included today Overnight: Kathmandu
Day 2Kathmandu sightseeing
About 8 hours
A full day in the valley. Start at Pashupatinath on the banks of the Bagmati, Nepal's holiest Hindu temple and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where sadhus gather to pray. Then the great stupa of Boudhanath, the holiest Buddhist shrine in Nepal and a place of pilgrimage. Cross the river to Patan, the old city of Lalitpur, whose Durbar Square is packed with temples, and the Tibetan refugee centre, the place to buy a hand-knotted Tibetan carpet. Climb the steps to Swayambhunath, the hilltop stupa with the painted eyes of the Buddha and a view over the city, and end at Budhanilkantha, where a great stone Vishnu lies asleep on a bed of serpents in an open-air pond.

Breakfast Overnight: Kathmandu
Day 3Bhaktapur, Doleshwor and the great Shiva of Sanga
About 35 km · about 6 hours with stops
Stop first at Bhaktapur, the least changed of the valley's old royal cities: the Palace of 55 Windows, the Golden Gate and the five-storey Nyatapola temple. Then visit Doleshwor Mahadev, a Shiva temple near Suryabinayak believed to be the head of Kedarnath in Uttarakhand. End at Sanga, on the hills east of the valley, where Kailashnath Mahadev, a 143-foot (43.5 m) statue of Shiva, looks out over forests and, on a clear day, the Himalaya. Tonight you stay at the Fortune Resort in Sanga, with dinner included.

Breakfast, Dinner Overnight: Sanga
Day 4Sanga to the airport
About 1.5 hours
A slow morning at the resort, then drive to Kathmandu airport for your flight home.
