Arrive in Delhi

Welcome to India's capital. Your driver meets you at Delhi railway station or airport and takes you to your hotel.

Day 2

Delhi Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, a full day in Delhi: Jama Masjid, the Red Fort, Raj Ghat, Humayun's Tomb, the Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar and Jantar Mantar, with a drive past Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House and India Gate.

Day 3

Delhi – Agra Sightseeing

216 km / 4 hrs

After breakfast, drive to Agra. On the way, visit Sikandra, the tomb of Emperor Akbar. Check in, then in the afternoon see the Taj Mahal, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz. Later, visit a marble-inlay workshop to watch the craft that decorates the Taj. The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays, so we plan your Agra day around it.

Day 4

Agra – Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri

245 km / 4 ½ hrs

After breakfast, visit Agra Fort, then drive to Jaipur, the Pink City. On the way, stop at Fatehpur Sikri, Emperor Akbar's red-sandstone capital, and its Buland Darwaza, one of the tallest gateways in the world. Check in at Jaipur.

Day 5

Jaipur Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, a full day in Jaipur. Start at Amber Fort and Palace on its hill, see the royal cenotaphs at Gaitore from outside, and stop for photos at Jal Mahal, the palace in the lake. Then the City Palace and its museum, Jantar Mantar, the 18th-century observatory, and a photo stop at Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds. The evening is free.

Jaipur – Jodhpur

After breakfast, drive to Jodhpur and check in.

Day 7

Jodhpur Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, a full day in Jodhpur. Start at Umaid Bhawan Palace and its museum, then climb to Mehrangarh Fort on its sandstone hill, with the Moti Mahal and Phool Mahal inside. Visit Jaswant Thada, the marble cenotaph built in 1899 for Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, then Kaylana Lake and Mandore Garden. The evening is free.

Day 8

Jodhpur – Udaipur via Ranakpur

260 km / 5 ½ hrs

After breakfast, drive to Udaipur. On the way, stop at the Ranakpur Chaumukha Temple, built in 1439: a marble Jain temple of 29 halls and 1,444 pillars, no two carved alike. Check in at Udaipur. In the evening, take a boat out on Lake Pichola (at your own cost) for the palaces along the water and the sunset.

Day 9

Udaipur Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, a day around Udaipur: Fateh Sagar lake, the Maharana Pratap Memorial, a photo stop at Nehru Garden, Saheliyon-ki-Bari (the garden of the maids of honour), a drive past Sukhadia Circle, and Bhartiya Lok Kala Museum, with its folk costumes, jewellery, puppets and masks.

Departure from Udaipur

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Udaipur railway station or airport for your journey home.

When to go

October to March. Warm days and cool nights. April to June is very hot; the monsoon months are humid but Udaipur's lakes fill up.

• Flights, trains and houseboats are paid in full at the time of ticketing or confirmation.
• Payments by bank transfer (NEFT / RTGS / IMPS), UPI or cheque in favour of TripRoutes. Card payments may carry a convenience fee.
• GST 5% is charged on the package cost as per government rules. On international holidays, TCS also applies as per government rules.
• Cancellation charges are per person, counted from the date of departure.
• Cancellations must be sent in writing by email or WhatsApp; the date we receive it is the cancellation date.
• Air and train tickets are refunded as per the airline / railway rules, plus our service charge.
• Visa fees, insurance premiums and non-refundable hotel or houseboat bookings (peak dates, special events) are not refundable.
• Refunds are processed within 15 working days of receiving supplier refunds.
• There is no refund for services not used during the holiday.
• Hotels may ask for a refundable security deposit at check-in, paid directly to the hotel.
